AIM: 

The ‘Aims’ of the NCC laid out in 1988 have stood the test of time and continue to meet the requirements expected of it in the current socio–economic scenario of the country. The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.

    The NCC Girls unit was incorporated at Shivaji Science College, Nagpur in 2012 and has been fully operational with an intake capacity of 100. Through NCC we are creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. In the academic year 2025-2026 in all 100 cadets were enrolled, 30 from the third year, 36 from second year and 44 from the first year. After the Covid-19 pandemic, regular parades resumed on Saturdays between 8.30 am to 11.30 am from September 2026. The NCC activities were conducted under the guidance of NCC Program Officers Dr. Apurva Fuladi and ANO Lt. Shrutika Lokhande. 

          The NCC unit of our college is very dynamic and enthusiastic. 3 Maharashtra Girls BN conducted the NCC Enrollment and Inauguration Program. P. I. staff and caretaker motivated the cadets to take up the career in the armed forces. After the Enrollment, the parade session is conducted regularly on every Saturday morning (8.30 AM to 11.30 PM) from August in which the NCC cadets of the senior wings remain present and trained in the various activities of NCC like the Basic Training, Social Service Activities, Adventure Training, Military Training in Drill, Map Reading, Weapon Training, Battle and Field Craft Training were imparted by the Physical Permanent Instructor (PI) staffs of the unit.NCC has adopted community development activities with the aim of imbibing amongst cadet’s selfless service to the community, programs involving: Adult-education, Tree plantation, Blood donation, Anti Dowry Rally, Anti Female Infanticide Pledge, Anti Leprosy Drive, AIDS Awareness week, Visit to Old Age Homes, Slum clearance,Disaster Management & Relief and various other social schemes

 We are very proud to mention that our Cadet CWO Rasika Rajesh Nachankar got the Best Cadet Award from Nagpur Division and also the Board of Student Development, RTMNU, Nagpur is awarded to CWO Rashmi P. Balki on the 98 th foundation day of the university, 4th August 2021 on being selected for BEST NCC CADET (SW) in the University for the training year 2020-21. Program was held on 5th September 2022.

NCC has adopted community development activities with the aim of imbibing amongst cadet’s selfless service to the community, programs involving: Adult-education, Tree plantation, Blood donation, Anti Dowry Rally, Anti Female Infanticide Pledge, Anti Leprosy Drive, AIDS Awareness week, Visit to Old Age Homes, Slum clearance,Disaster Management & Relief and various other social schemes

PLEDGE: 

We, the cadets of the National Cadet Corps, solemnly pledge that we shall always uphold the unity of India. We resolve to be disciplined and responsible citizens of our nation. We shall undertake positive community service in the spirit of selflessness and concern for our fellow beings.

MOTTO of NCC

The need for having a motto for the Corps was discussed in the 11th Central Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting held on 11 Aug 1978. The mottos suggested were “Duty and Discipline”; “Duty, Unity and Discipline”; “Duty and Unity”; “Unity and Discipline”. The final decision for selection of “Unity and Discipline” as motto for the NCC was taken in the 12th CAC meeting held on 12 Oct 1980.

 NCC FLAG 

The NCC flag for various units of the NCC was first introduced in 1951. The flag was of the same pattern, color and size as was used by various regiments of the Army. The only difference was that it had the NCC badge and unit designation placed in the center. Later on it was felt that the flag should be in keeping with the inter-service character of the Corps. In 1954 the existing tricolor flag was introduced. The three colors in the flag depict the three services of the Corps, red for the Army, deep blue for the Navy and light blue for the Air Force. The letters NCC and the NCC crest in gold in the middle of the flag encircled by a wreath of lotus, give the flag a colorful look and a distinct identity.

The NCC is a responsive, learning and continuously evolving organization. Its activity is guided by certain Core Values that we endeavor to instill among all ranks of the NCC. These include the following:

a. A sense of patriotic commitment to encourage cadets to contribute to national development.

b. Respect for diversities in religion, language, culture, ethnicity, lifestyle and habitat to instill a sense of National unity and social cohesion.

c. Abiding commitment to learn and adhere to the norms and values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.

d. Understanding the value of a just and impartial exercise of authority.

e. Ability to participate in community development and other social programmes.

f. A healthy lifestyle free of substance abuse and other unhealthy practices.

g. Sensitivity to the needs of poor and socially disadvantaged fellow citizens.

h. Inculcating habits of restraint and self-awareness.

i. Understanding the values of honesty, truthfulness, self-sacrifice, perseverance and hard work.

j. Respect for knowledge, wisdom and the power of ideas.
